Tri-City Transitions

<p>Tri-City Transitions is a respected and established 34 year old charitable not-for-prfit organization supporting our community by providing help and hope to women and families who have been impacted by violence and abuse in the Tri-Cities area. Vancouver and District Labour Council

Founded in 1889, the VDLC is a local organization of the Canadian Labour Congress at the City Level, representing 1.5 million unionized workers across Canada. Labour councils have various responsibilities but mainly are the voice and organization of the labour movement at the community level. Labour councils organize the local unions in their jurisdiction to carry out the national policies of the CLC; to participate in national action campaigns; to assist unions on strike; to organize political action; to develop international solidarity and to work for social justice in the community.

We are a non-profit organization offering free and confidential services in twenty languages. We provide culturally sensitive services to immigrant and visible minority women and their families who are experiencing family violence. Vancouver Coastal Health - Domestic Violence Program

Our program aims to decrease violence in abusive relationships and create meaningful links between hospitals and other community resources. We provide counseling for women and men abused by heterosexual partners, same sex partners, and family members.
