Second Annual Change Makers Conference: Tools for Change May 23, 2021

This second annual event brought together dozens of committed individuals to learn practical skills that can be used to affect change in their communities.

Participants were invited to attend three workshops on the following topics:

- "Violence against teenage girls: schools, media and relationships" with Leave Out ViolencE youth facilitators

- "Real men don't hurt women: masculinity and violence against women" with Dr. Harry Stefanakis

-"Change Makers Tools: leadership skills, engagement strategies, and overcomming barriers" with Terry Rogocki (UBC Centre for Intercultural Communication/Oxfam Canada) and Anastasia Gaisenok (Law Courts Education Society of BC/ "We Can" BC)

The community resource fair offered useful information and materials, and consisted of a number of coalition partners.

Although smaller in scale than in the previous year, the event was a success! The workshops were described as "interactive and thought provoking"; participants liked "great content", "great discussion", "the different perspectives of the participants" and "shared ideas and inspiration for change".

Celebrating Women's Achievements: Past and Present

Celebrating Women's Achievements: Past and Present, a beautiful evening celebrating another year of the international women's movement.

March 4/09 - A successful and empowering evening full of celebration and renewed spirits. This wonderful evening of celebration flowed from ancestral songs, to inspirational poetry, wise words from a panel of speakers, and ended in joyous songs and dance from a choir. Over 200 women and men, ranging from young and old came together to celebrate the end of one cycle of women's achievements and to welcome another year of positive endeavors.

A warm thank you to all organizers, supporters and participants! This wonderful evening could not have happened without the continual love and dedication of everyone involved.
